There isn’t another car like the all-new Hyundai Veloster. It is stylish yet polarising. Avante guarde yet classy. Bold yet edgy. Masculine yet feminine. It is quite an enigma. It is everything you have been looking for in a car that turns heads and makes your driving experience more than you could hope for.
You see, Veloster offers a unique 1+ 2 door configuration. That’s right, three doors! One large door on the driver side, two doors on the passenger side. So on the one hand it’s a sporty, stylish coupe while on the other it’s a sporty, spacious hatch. Clad in vibrant bold colours, the Veloster brings a futuristic concept car to reality on the road. Inside the Veloster you’re not just connected to the road you’re connected to the world.
Add to this the all-new Veloster Turbo model, which matches muscular design with powerful performance for a total sports car experience, giving you a truly progressive vehicle that is as exciting to drive as it is to look at.
Veloster. Totally original. Totally cutting edge.
With prices beginning at just $44,990 for the Elite Model and going through to $49,990 for the Turbo variant it is affordable style as well.
Breath taking exterior
The all-new Veloster’s bold colours and aggressive raking lines give you the first clue that the Veloster might be something a little special. You can’t see Veloster’s unique 1 + 2 asymmetrical door configuration at first glance. You have to walk around it. Even then the passenger side rear door is brilliantly camouflaged thanks to its handle being cunningly concealed in the window frame to maintain the classic 2-door coupe look.
But when you spot it your breath catches in excitement. Wrap around fog lights, the assertive hexagonal grille, proud wheel arches and a low stance give you a sense of impending action. Veloster can’t wait to be driven.
Sports styled interior
Inside, the all-new Hyundai Veloster delivers as much fun for passengers as it does for drivers. With a 7” multimedia touch screen with video playback, 7-speaker system with subwoofer, Bluetooth streaming and USB/Aux everyone’s connected. Fingertip controls include the start/stop button. Another button opens back the full-length panoramic sunroof (elite model & turbo only). The centre facia looks like the fuel tank of a racing motorbike. The rear load space is enormous and with 60:40 split seats it just gets bigger. Luxuriously upholstered sport bucket seats for driver and passenger just add to the feeling that the Veloster is a car you can’t wait to get in.
Veloster has power and economy in perfect balance. The 6-speed transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters enable you to zip through the gears of the 1.6L GDi engine. And with the added muscle of the all-new Veloster Turbo, you can now get even more. The Veloster is quiet, peppy and slippery. It’s 0.32 drag coefficient means real fuel-savings without compromising performance.
The suspension is tuned for positive driving - delivering greater agility, performance and fuel efficiency. Veloster's muscular lines are not just about looking good but provide a slippery 0.32 drag coefficient. As the 1.6L GDi engine generates an impulsive 103kW at 6300 rpm, slipperiness equals fuel-savings. And when it comes to grunt, the all-new Hyundai Veloster Turbo is even harder to match. Its twin-scroll turbocharged engine with front-mounted intercooler delivers all the on-demand muscle you’d expect and then some - packing in 46% more power and 60% more torque.
Hyundai makes no shortcuts on safety. The Veloster has a 5-Star ANCAP safety rating.
This is never more evident than in the abundance of safety features built in to the Veloster. Like six airbags: driver, front passenger, nearside and offside curtain airbags, left and right side bags. Hill Start Assist prevents rolling back on steep roads; and Traction Control System (TCS) prevents wheel spin under hard acceleration or slippery conditions. The ABS has Electric Brake Force Distribution operating on each wheel individually; Brake Assist System (BAS) applies maximum braking in emergencies; and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) stops steering induced skidding. And the whole lot is encased in a rigid high tensile steel body.
