High Performance Veloster Turbo arrives in Nelson

Hyundai Motors New Zealand has announced the arrival of its all-new Veloster Turbo in showrooms, which means that we now have one to see and drive at Bowater Hyundai on Hardy Street. For those in the know, the arrival of the turbo version of this widely praised model is much anticipated as the extra kick of power gives this car a whole different purpose.

Powered by the all-new 1.6-litre turbo engine, the Veloster Turbo delivers 262Nm of torque, an increase of 60 per cent, with maximum power increasing nearly 50 per cent to 150kW. This means that the Veloster Turbo will not only turn heads but it will give you an extra thrill when you put your foot down.

The new model has the option of a six-speed manual gearbox or six-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters.

Other enhancements include 300mm ventilated front disc brakes, 20mm larger than on naturally aspirated models, a re-calibrated suspension package, a quicker rack (2.78 turns lock to lock) and revised motor-driven power steering.

Hyundai General Manager Andy Sinclair says all the extra power brings braun to beauty, which New Zealanders will love.

To set it apart, the Veloster Turbo has an aggressive new front grille, round front fog lamps, 18” alloy wheels with chrome inserts, side skirts, a rear diffuser, rear spoiler and twin circular exhaust outlets.

Standard features include sports bucket seats fitted with a blend of leather and leatherette, a 7” LCD touch screen, reversing camera and a panoramic glass sunroof.

The Veloster Turbo is available in six colours, including a matte finish called Young Gun, a pearl-effect Phantom Black, Veloster Red, Battleship Grey and Storm Trooper White.

Both the Veloster 6-speed manual or automatic models are priced at $49,990 and available for test drives right now. We will be sure to make the most of this great new funky car and get it out and about test driving and photographing it at every opportunity! It is very nice looking indeed!
