Hyundai Santa Fe wins "4WD of the year" award

Hyundai’s latest Santa Fe 4WD has won the New Zealand Company Vehicle magazine’s Business 4WD of the Year award, as well as NZ4WD magazine’s Medium SUV of the year.

The Santa Fe, which was launched in March this year, provides a great all round package according to Managing Editor John Oxley.

“The new Santa Fe is a deeply impressive machine,” said Mr. Oxley. “It has all the ingredients to continue selling well,” he said. “It’s well equipped, well built and undeniably handsome.”

Like all the winners of the various different classes of business vehicles, which New Zealand Company Vehicle honours, the Santa Fe offered more new technology to provide better safety systems, reductions in fuel consumption and improved emission levels, as well as a better driving environment, said Mr Oxley.

The magazine’s did not only consider the Santa Fe’s on road performance but also its running costs and usefulness for the tasks it is asked to do, he said.

“Santa Fe has certainly been successful for us,” said Andy Sinclair, the General Manager of Hyundai New Zealand. “It’s found a place with business and fleets as well as private buyers, an indication it is meeting the needs of anybody in the market for a medium 4WD vehicle.”

Bowater Hyundai on Hardy Street in central Nelson has got a great range of Hyundai Santa Fe's in the showroom for you to test drive for yourself and see what all of the fuss is about.

Hyundai are giving away a year of family time. Get your share.

Lets give kiwi families back the thing that matters most.

Kiwis are spending more time at work and less time with their family than ever. Hyundai New Zealand wants to help change that with the launch of The Hyundai Family Time Project, an initiative designed to help give time back to hard working Kiwi families.

The project began life as a way to thank their family – staff, dealer network and customers – for helping make Hyundai one of New Zealand’s favourite auto brands. Now they’ve introduced the opportunity for all New Zealanders to win time together with family.

It’s an ambitious, work-it-out-as-they-go kind of project and they’re committed to making it happen. A big slice of what they would normally spend on traditional media has been invested straight back into Kiwi families and the project kicked off with a year of time to give away. You could win a share of that year.

They’ve already shared 3 months with their staff and dealer network. Then they have six months for our nations Hyundai drivers and 3 months for all New Zealanders. Just let them know how you’d spend a month with your family and you’re in to win. Winners will be selected by online vote so make your story something special. Every entry helps remind us all of the importance of time spent together with family.

How to win Family Time

Imagine the perfect month together with your family. Tell them how that month looks and The Hyundai Family Time Project could help make it happen.

You could leave work early every day and pick up the kids from school, round up the rellies from all over the country for a series of Sunday roasts, spend a month apologising to your mum and dad for your teenage years or ask your kids to write your entry and discover just how important time really is.

Entry is simple but time is precious, so be quick. Just click on the link below and away you go.

World’s First Full Production Fuel Cell Cars to Arrive in the U.K.

Hyundai Motor’s ix35 Fuel Cell offers zero emissions and no compromise

Emission-free hydrogen powered vehicles will soon be operating in London. It is the intention that five Hyundai Motor ix35 Fuel Cell models – the first production fuel cell cars in the world – will be an integral part of the London Hydrogen Network Expansion (LNHE) project.

Hyundai Motors, as a supplier to the LHNE project, will join the existing consortium of companies with expertise in hydrogen transport infrastructure and operation, working to establish the UK’s first hydrogen transport network covering London and south east England. The LHNE project, a government-backed initiative co-funded by the Technology Strategy Board, will put hydrogen-fuelled vehicles into daily business use and deliver the refuelling infrastructure to support their operation.

These fuel cell vehicles will be leased to key public and private fleet users in the capital. They are among the first of 1,000 examples that Hyundai Motors has committed to produce between now and 2015 and are built on the same production line, in Ulsan, Korea, as the Tucson.
The majority of those 1,000 cars will be available in Europe where the European Commission has established a number of schemes, such as the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU), to promote the use of hydrogen as an energy carrier with zero carbon content.

With various hydrogen projects concentrating on establishing hydrogen infrastructure in Europe, the timing is right for hydrogen-powered vehicles to accelerate the project.

Bowater Hyundai's service team untangle a nasty situation

It is always very nice to receive positive feedback, especially from customers.
Local lady Edith Shaw found herself in a spot of bother recently and had to call on the skills of one of our service technicians, Gordon Mains.

The whole experience left her a little frazzled, but it was dealt with quickly and without too much fuss. Afterwards she felt so pleased with her experience with the service department at Bowater Hyundai she felt compelled to let Hyundai know.

Hyundai New Zealand head office sent her letter out to all sorts of Hyundai types all around the country.
This in turn has come back to the Bowater Hyundai team here in Nelson, who are understandably a little bit coy about the whole thing, afterall, they were just doing their job.
However it is great to know that those "jobs" can have a huge impact on someone's day.

The Bowater Motor Group is always very pleased to hear reports like this - appreciation is always appreciated!
