Drive your dream with Bowater Toyota

Tony Bowater has a close shave with the Mayor

Nelson Mayor Rachel Reese, Bowater Toyoa CEO Tony Bowater & Shawn Stormann from Stormy's Man Cave

Whilst Bowater Toyota CEO Tony Bowater has been rocking an excellent 1980's style M.O.T Moustache all good things must come to an end, and with the end of Movember here he couldn't wait to be rid of the itchy and drink spilling cookie duster!

Unfortunately for Tony we kept him going with the Mo for an extra couple of days so that we could make a bit of a song and dance about the removal of it and try and gather some extra donations as the actual cutoff for raising money is December 10th, so in other words watch the video and go and donate!!!! Click here to head to our Movember page - after all this is the whole reason we are doing this, to raise both money and awareness of a really great cause.

After being gently persuaded that keeping the moustache an extra couple of days would be for the good of the cause Tony agreed to a visit to Stormy's Man Cave in the Farmers Arcade to experience, for the first time ever, a true "gentlemans shave". What we didn't tell him was that new Nelson Mayor Rachel Reese would be the one in charge of the clippers, also for the first time ever!
We were there with the video camera to record such an event for prosperity....

It is show time again - and this year we celebrate history!

Despite the downpours today, the hints of summer are everywhere, and the days are really warming up, which means that one of the regions finest events on the calendar is just around the corner - it's SHOWTIME!

Another year has rolled by and the annual Nelson A&P Show is on again this coming weekend (November 23rd & 24th) at the Richmond Showgrounds.
This year marks the 120th Anniversary of the local event, which must make it one of the regions longest running community activities. Bowater Toyota is proud to be a part of it all again this year, with a large display in the same spot as always, stop by and see us for some amazing show specials (more on this later in the week as they are amazing!).
Bowaters has got a long and proud association with the local A&P Show, having been in attendance for generations!

This year the show association are focusing on the history of the event in our region with a celebration of 120 years. As we were preparing for this years show we came across this old photo from the early 1960's (either 1962 or 1963) - it shows a young Rodney Bowater (with his back turned leaning over the car) with the brand new Triumph Spitfire Mark 1 at the local A&P Show.

We scanned in the photo so we can share it (see below) as it is just another one of those historical moments to relish. Back in those days it would have been quite the show stopper - a little sports car so new it even has got it's upholstery wrapped and protected!

Our service technician recieves one of the highest honours.

Bowater Toyota CEO Tony Bowater, Service tech Ken Gebert (DMT), and Service Manager Chris Westley.

Today the team at Bowater Toyota received another acknowledgement of a job well done with the presentation of a Diagnostic Master Technician Certificate to one of our dedicated and experienced service technicians Ken Gebert.

Bowater Toyota Service Manager Chris Westley and Bowater Toyota CEO Tony Bowater presented Ken with his certificate acknowledging his achievement within Toyota's technical training.

This is one of the highest awards for any Technician and the achievement demonstrates Ken's mastery of Toyota’s up to the minute technology. This technology has helped Toyota gain and retain one of the world’s most reliable and green motor brands as well as being number 1 in Nelson and New Zealand.

Ken Gebert is now an official Diagnostic Master Tech (DMT), and his training adds a new layer of knowledge to the already highly skilled and experienced team with the Bowater Toyota Service Bays across the region. Ken certainly knows his way around Bowater Toyota. He has been a valued member of the team for over 25 years, so has got real world, long term experience servicing the cars of Nelson.
