Horwin EK3

The EK3 has a range of up to 80km and a top speed of 90km/h, and is a brilliant choice for longer commutes or open roads, or those just wanting a bit more power.

Cruise like a boss

Bold easy-to-operate switch gear including cruise control - all at your fingertips.

Monitor your ride

The innovative driving display has all of the important information at hand. The EK3 also features swipe-to-start technology.

Reverse Gear

All models feature reverse gear for easier parking and manoeuvering, especially around the hills of Aotearoa.

PORTABLE HEART.
OUR INTELLIGENT LITHIUM BATTERY.

At the heart of all of our models are removable intelligent lithium batteries.

The 36Ah, 72V high voltage battery utilises 18650 lithium-ion battery cells. Intelligent technology protects them against over-charging, discharging, short-circuiting and they can monitor their own temperature.

The battery has a life of around 1000 cycles - 1000 full charges and discharges. For a typical rider travelling 5000 kilometres a year, that would mean a battery life of around 7 years*.

The removable battery means you can charge both on and off the bike, and the included 8A intelligent charger will charge the battery in just 4 hours, so you can get back to riding.

*This will vary depending on rider weight, terrain, riding style and riding conditions. For more information, see our FAQ.

Any Questions?

Do you have demonstrators in your store I can try?

We certainly do. Feel free to contact us and come down to see the different Horwin bikes in person, and ride the model options for yourself. These electric mopeds are something else altogether, and you really need to come and experience it to really appreciate the difference.

Range Anxiety?

No need to worry about running out of power. These electric mopeds are easy to charge, both on the bike, or separately at another location with the battery removed. That is one of the great features - a removable battery! Not everyone has the ability to charge their bike where they store it, so you can just take the battery out and charge it in your home or work. The removable battery means you can charge both on and off the bike, and the included 8A intelligent charger will charge the battery in just 4 hours, so you can get back to riding.

Do I need a motorbike license?

If you choose the Horwin EK1 you can ride it on a normal car license. It has a strong, clean and powerful little motor and it is smoother (and quieter) than any petrol scooter, and you will get up to 80 kilometres on a single charge.

You'll need a restricted motorcycle licence or above to be able to ride the EK3, but is quick off the mark to beat the city traffic and goes on to a top speed in excess of 90 kph (where permissible).

With a class leading battery – bigger means more range and more freedom – the EK3 will get up to 80 kilometres on a single charge (depending on rider weight, riding style and terrain).

What about charging them? I don't have a plug in the garage?

All Horwin scooters come with their own charger included, rated at 8A and suitable for New Zealand domestic wall sockets. Batteries can be charged in the vehicle or off the vehicle, the charge time dependent upon the battery. Our standard 36Ah battery will typically take 4 hours to charge from flat.

You can remove the battery and charge it separately.

The battery life is over 1000 cycles (a full discharge and charge) which means for most users a battery should last between 5 and 10 years. Batteries can be returned to your authorised Horwin dealer for recycling at end of life.

Servicing them? What happens when something goes wrong?

Most Horwin scooters need servicing every 3000 kms or every 12 months, whichever comes first. We are authorised dealers for Horwin and have the ability to sort out and servicing or repairs.

On all Horwin motorcycles and scooters supplied by Horwin New Zealand, the warranty is 24 months for the battery, frame and electric motor and 12 months for the other components.
